Protect turtle nests
Night patrols in the nesting season, and a semi-natural hatchery for eggs at risk from predators or the tide.
Baruna Balarama Fantasi grew out of a community that began replanting the mangrove of Pudut Island. Since 2025, it has been a registered Indonesian foundation.

It started with an island. Pudut Island, off Tanjung Benoa, once covered more than 10 hectares; erosion and dredging have reduced it to about one hectare.
The local community Balaram Mangrove Heroes, led by I Nyoman Ridet Artikanaya, began replanting the mangrove to help the island grow again, working with UPTD Tahura Ngurah Rai.
In 2025, Yayasan Baruna Balarama Fantasi was legally established to carry this work further: protecting sea turtle nests, caring for injured turtles and teaching young people to look after their coast.

We grow seedlings in our nursery, plant them on Pudut Island and look after them.
Stranded or entangled turtles receive natural food, shell care and clean pools until they can return to the sea.
Schools, universities, hotels and companies join us to learn about coastal ecosystems and act for them.

Yayasan Baruna Balarama Fantasi is a registered Indonesian foundation. Until now, our activities have been entirely self-funded. Every year, we will publish the number of nests protected, hatchlings released and mangroves planted, and how donations were used.

Conservation is not a solitary effort. We work with local government, universities, schools, hotels and companies, including:
Entry is free, every day, 9 am to 5 pm. We trust that what you see will make you want to support it.

Yes. Yayasan Baruna Balarama Fantasi is an Indonesian foundation (yayasan), legally established in 2025.
The foundation works hand in hand with the local community Balaram Mangrove Heroes, led by I Nyoman Ridet Artikanaya, and with UPTD Tahura Ngurah Rai, universities, schools, hotels and companies.
Our activities have been entirely self-funded so far, with no permanent funding partner. Donations and symbolic adoptions pay for food and care for the turtles, which cost about IDR 5 million (around US$300) a month.
